I can’t sleep tonight My mind keeps running and I can’t stop it Just one more time Numb the feeling for another moment But I’m too stuck in my ways I can’t get out of my daze The nights get longer each time When will my suffering die I can’t get through with no high Give me some more, give me some more Oh yeah I need a change Give me some more give me some more I need that in my veins Give me some more give me some more I wanna be numbed and dazed Give me some more give me some more I need to dull my pain I wake up and bake my brain I used to do a little but it’s gotten insane Small truths wrapped up in a bigger lie Convince myself that all I gotta do is fly But I’m too stuck in my ways Each time my fix gets a raise Oh no, I’m not going to lie thought my suffering would die by now I can’t get through with no high Give me some more, give me some more Oh yeah, I need a change Give me some more give me some more I need that in my veins Give me some more give me some more I wanna be numbed and dazed Give me some more give me some more I wanna be numbed and dazed I wanna be stunned and hazed I wanna be numbed and dazed Dull my brain Give it to me I can’t sleep tonight I can’t sleep tonight I can’t sleep tonight I can’t sleep tonight My mind flows like a river Release me from my chains My mind flows like a river Release me from my brain Give me some more, give me some more Oh yeah, I need a change Give me some more give me some more I need that in my veins Give me some more give me some more I wanna be numbed and dazed Give me some more give me some more I wanna be numbed and dazed I wanna be stunned and hazed I wanna be numbed and dazed Dull my brain

The Jungle 03:33
Sense impending darkness mind is caving in I feel the nausea blooming The shivers sinking in Settled in an armchair While my mind is war Why can’t I be normal Or get out of my head Searching the jungle Hoping to hear the sound That sound it will lead me If only I could lead myself I remember dreaming Life was so surreal The fire started burning And it all came crashing down Searching the jungle Hoping to hear the sound That sound it will lead me If only I could lead myself The jungle It takes what it wants Running to the echo I’ve exposed the sound All this time, I’ve dreamed it Not honest with myself If I knew for certain Where I should go Maybe I could get there But not on my own Searching the jungle Hoping to hear the sound That sound it will lead me If only I could lead myself The Jungle has crushed me All that I do is explore With the state of my mind I don’t wanna live anymore The jungle It takes what it wants
3.
All I Need 03:44
set out on the water today I’m tired of the same old place My restless soul it can’t be tamed I must cross the sea to find my babe Leave my home and set off on the sea I’m torn between my heart and my brain I kept searching for someone To live my life with one on one Then my search it came to a close My girl came before me like a budding rose All alone then you, you came along I’ve realized now Your love is all I need Your love is all that I need Your love is my saviour Your love is all that I crave Your love is my saviour I’ve been waiting, I’ve been waiting Been waiting round for far too long I’ve been holding, yes I’m holding I’ve been holding out for far too long You stole my heart away Your love is all that I need Your love is all that I need Your love is my saviour Your love is all that I crave Your love is my saviour I’ve been waiting, I’ve been waiting Been waiting round for far too long I’ve been holding, yes I’m holding I’ve been holding out for far too long Your love is all that I need Baby, you’re all that I need

Watery Grave 03:22
There's a superstition in the men who roam the sea A woman swimmin' in my dreams Her curves are the waves of lust in me The curves of the waves remind me Yeah yeah Girl I know the way that you move And we all know the danger I'll take what you will give to me when The ocean calls for me and you Oh baby girl I will reach your shore Down low there's a watery grave for me I should have known you'd show me more The curves of the waves remind me Yeah yeah Girl I know the way that you move And we all know the danger I'll take what you will give to me When the ocean calls to me and you Girl I know the way that you move And we all know the danger I'll take what you will give to me When the ocean calls to me and you The ocean calls for me and you The ocean calls
5.
All my thoughts were darkened I woke to the noise in my head Temperature was rising It looked like it started again Oh oh no I can be Who I want Try to hold me I’ll still move on Combat started the moment I awoke No one else heard a thing All alone for them to strike Here’s to another lonely night Oh oh no I can be Who I want Try to hold me I’ll still move on I thought you could walk around and take on anyone But you were swiftly stricken down to the floor Helpless as a child you felt the harsh denial Well the words have been spoken your time has come To lay down and die I can be Who I want Try to hold me I’ll still move on Still move on Still move on

about

The Jailbirds highly anticipated sophomore EP, Jungle, is a collection of 5 songs each unique in their approach to the subject of depression, anxiety and substance addiction, but cohesive in their theme. Songs like “Dull My Brain”, and “Watery Grave” bring charisma and energy to the fore as they tackle substance addiction. Whereas tracks like “Jungle” and “I Will Move On”, are dark and gritty but hopeful in their lyrics and melody as it delves into the topic of anxiety and depression.
Jungle, when listened to front to back, is a linear story. The tracks on the EP plant the listener firmly in the shoes of a person struggling for conquest of their own mind; their life has become a duality of love and hate. Step by step (song by song) the listener learns the story of a person battling self and substance, constantly shifting in their resolve to overcome their depressive and anxious mind.
In this follow up record, calling up inspiration that spans across multiple eras and sounds, The Jailbirds have created a potent blend of Hard Rock, and Modern Rock that is at once both nostalgic and fresh.
